Abdullah Nawawi is a painter of colourful abstraction from Jeddah, who is (2009) manager of the Plastic Art Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information's Saudi Arabian Association of Arts and Culture. His education is American and in arts and ceramics. Interviewed by the Yemen Observer he explains his work as lines moving up and down and remembering moments of great joy and sadness. He also stated that his country needed two large gallery's in Riyadh and Jeddah to build permanent collections. he compliments the government fro financing artists and buying art for embassies abroad.
